mkelive::motion graphics in After Effects
Here’s a quick rundown on what has transpired so far.
We selected a unique sound from www.freesound.org, a blues tune with strong piano sound that is completely different from what one might expect. The original sound can be found here. Audacity was used to convert the .ogg file into a .mp3 file. Using Adobe Soundbooth I edited the .mp3 for time and for sounds that could be matched to the movements of the mkelive animation. listen Once the sound was set the vector graphic needed some attention. The original was edited in Adobe Illustrator to create separate layers for all the moving pieces, paying close attention to layer ordering in order to preserve the correct overlapping. The result was imported into an Adobe After Effects composition. The colored spheres were turned into bouncing bundles of energy that eventually coalesce into a network of glowing potential. The rest of the graphic fades into view, accented by the wave that flows under the “mke” section and the “connecting people” text that glows.
